Hanford, California

This last weekend the boys were at a fathers and sons camp to commemorate the restoration of the Aaronic priesthood. Basically, it was really cold. We have been having a cold spell in Fresno - weird! So my mother-in-law invited me to a sleepover at her house with her and her 16 year old daughter - a girls night!! We did some fun things and had a delicious smoothie in the morning. On Saturday, we went to Hanford for a day trip.

Hanford was fun! We got there via train. We where all ready for a hot day, but it was a little cool initially. We went shopping, and as we were walking to the Superior Dairy for a tasty dairy snack, we ran into a little outdoor market! It had nicknacks, food, a dunking station, a carousel and food. Well, and one more thing - really cool old cars!

We then found a consignment store and we all found things we wanted. Even I spent $40 on needed clothes - I got a great deal!

We followed this by our treat at Superior Dairy (very tasty) and the train ride back was very relaxing.

All in all, it was a very fun girly weekend and day trip. Hurray for girl day!

Our First Fruit

We have four kinds of fruit trees - cherry, apple pear, plum and fuji apple. The fuji apple, plum and cherry are all bearing fruit this year - and cherry is our first crop! I love that we can have food from our yard (saves gas money!). I look forward to the many hours of drying and canning that I am sure are to come in the next few years.

Easter from a Box

So Easter was the weekend we moved! Talk about bad timing. So we had Easter from a box.

Luckily, my in-laws invited us to dinner and gave us these cute baskets. Hurrah for family!

I am grateful to Jesus Christ for His sacrifice for me. I couldn't handle this life without His support.

The Great Move to California

What a ride this one was! First we got boxes (thank you work!), then we packed boxes, we loaded them, we moved them, we unloaded them. We still haven't unpacked them...I am surprised by how much you don't need to subsist (though finding a hairdryer and the rice would be a nice perk).

Steve got under the mattress to help move it. My dad is shown in the back. It took all four boys to get that behemoth up the stairs.

The boys helped pack stuff in (we girls were cleaning). I didn't get a picture of the full truck, but we ended up filling most of it. My dad was packer extraodinaire! He made everything fit in just right.

I say a parting farewell to Zzyzx (ah, Zzyzx). We all met up in St. George and on Saturday we had three legs to get to Fresno. I did leg one with my mohter-in-law in the Aveo, leg two they let me drive their Pilot with my sister-in-law and the leg three Steve and I were in the moving van.

How we are living now - out of boxes! After about a week we managed to get a card table. Eating standing up is a drag. We'll move completely after May 31st.

Graduation x2

Our family has two new BYU graduates! One is Steve and the other is my sister. Both immediate families came out in their entirety (even Matt!) and we had a fun time. The added bonus was that both families helped us move (another post on that coming soon).

Congratulations to both graduates! You both worked hard and deserve your degrees ten times over!
